I worked at steak n shake for about 1 year. I had became a manager there. They put me on 3rd shift for about 6 months, which i was only supposed to train on 3rd shift for about 1 month. I was the only african american, female manager at the time. The general manager worked first shift, so when he came in, in the morning and was having a bad day, he would make me stay and clean up the restaurant (it was already clean) until about 11am or 12pm, when i was supposed to get off at 7am. Then he would go into the computer system and switch my hours, saying that i got off at 7am. He also switched my pay rate. For no apparent reason. I was always at work on time (30 minutes before my shift), never complained, i did my job well, i took care of my customers and employees, i just couldn't understand why he would do this to me. Everytime i asked when i was supposed to get off 3rd shift the general manager and the area manager would tell me the same thing, that i would get off that week it never happened. So beware if you plan to work for them.
