Minimum payment allocation - Care Credit

I recently paid $50 over the minimum payment amount, but rather than that money being put towards the deferred interest payment due to expire in February, it was put towards the fixed interest payment that doesn't expire for approximately five years.

When I called the first time, on December 6th, a young man told me that it looked as if the payment hadn't been allocated yet, and to check back in a few days.

When I checked on December 13, nothing about the allocation of the payment had changed.

Also, I have a 'finance charge purchases refund' on my transaction page that looks like a credit, but I can find no explanation of what it actually is, and I still have $1.92 left on the deferred interest expiring in February of next year.
