Direct Merchants Bank, Avoid This Company!

I have finally paid my balance in full to Direct Merchants Bank and have requested that they permanently close my account.

I should feel liberated from this predatory lendor, however I have now called 3 times to close my account. Each time I have called I was told that the status of the account was "open in good standing with a zero balance".

One person there went so far as to try to sell me credit protection for the account that minutes earlier I had asked him to close. These people just dont get it.

I am putting Direct Merchants Bank on notice right now that if you try to pull any *@#$. I will be watching you like a hawk, and will file complaints with the States Attorney Generals Office in NC and Oklahoma.

If I need to hire an attorney it will be money well spent. This company really needs a good class action lawsuit to stop their practices.

I have methodically documented everything, dates, times, payments, balances, people spoken to, etc. I suggest that everyone do the same.

Word of advice make your payments to this company through their webpage and print the payment confirmation page. Otherwise they will try to drill you for a $39 late fee and harass you to no end for a "dilinquent account".
