Scam, Ignored repeated requests, excuses instead of refunds

In May I sent an application to Merchant Commerce for an account for my small business. I could not meet the underwriting requirements in time for our first sale, so I went with another company for my credit card processing. Never had set up an account with Merchant. The beginning of June I was charged a statement fee of $6.95 and something called a PCI fee of $99.

When I called to check on that I was told that the PCI fee did not apply to me and it would be refunded. I was told that they had to "request" a refund approval from the supervisor and that was all done at the end of the month. I thought this odd, since most companies are capable of refunding money to your account almost immediately if the error was theirs.

I soon realized that they would not be a company I wanted to do business with; I called a week later to cancel my application and was told I needed to fax a form that they would email to me. I never recieved that form and called the end of June for aother copy. I recieved that one and faxed it to them the end of June.

July rolls around, no refund of the $99 and once again a statement fee of $6.95 is taken from my account. I call again... Customer service trys to tell me they didn't get the fax... I give them the confirmation informaton and they then find it. She tells me they will terminate the account immediately.

Needless to say, August rolls around, no refund and another monthly statement fee deducted from my account. I am fuming this time and call yet again to hear the same nonsense about needing to get approval at the end of the month. This is outragious. I am calling my bank after sending this out to see about stopping any future drafts from them They must have the most antiquated system around if they can't get refunds out and cancel bank drafts. I told her I would put my reviews out on every online site I could find.

If you have a small business, this is NOT the company for your credit card processing. I went with Intuit's Go Payment. The fees are slightly higher, but I can go online and see all my current transactions. Merchant Commerce did not have that feature... You can see transactions from your phone, but not get any reports until the end of the month. Not acceptable when I had to pay my clients right away.
