Ripped me off~

In the first week of December Providian national bank of Tilton NH sent me an email making me an offer for a low interest, no membership fee visa card. Platinum to be exact. All i had to do was fill out the online app. The credit card was in the 9.9 percent range. I filled out the app and got a response in an email 20 minutes later saying i didnt qualify for the platinum card but the classic has been approved. It referenced a web page to view details about the card. The classice included a 89.00 dollar annual fee and a 23.99 percent intest rate. Needless to say i didnt apply for this and didnt want this. I called the company immediatly and stated to them that this isnt want i wanted and to cancel this. They said yes they would without a problem. Two weeks later the card arrives in the mail. I call them again and tell them i had called previously about not wanting this. The call center person said that it was on the books as canceled and that it must have gotten crossed in the computer. Two days letter i got the usual letter saying they are sorry i was leaving them and that the account was canceled. Today 7 Jan i recieved a montly statement with the annual membership fee of 89.00 being charged to me. Again i called and again they stated it was closed. She again said it must have gotten crossed in the computers but she woudl send it to the correct dept. Three strikes your are out rule applys. They seem to be giving peopel every incentive to use the card no matter if you want it or not. They wont take no for an answer. Tommorrow i will call to see if it is cleaned up and the charge reversed. They also go by GETSMART Visa card and have a California billing dispute address.
