Ripoff Unauthorized debits via my debit card! Internet

I noticed a $9.95 charge appeared on my checking statement 7/28/04 and it did not seem familiar. I checked further and saw the same amount appeared on 6/28/04.

I called my bank for information and the gave me the phone number of the merchant (888/681-7216). I called and was told that I had joined some kind of purchasing plan. I said I hadn't and they said they would refund my July charge but not the June charge. I asked to speak to a supervisor and, while waiting, looked MWI up on the internet.

The only entries I could find were "rip-off" reports of various kinds. The supervisor came on the phone and re-stated what the original employee had told me. I told her that I was now very aware of their reputation via the existing complaints. She said those reports were old and I said that it appears they are up to their old tricks.in spite of what they said, I never requested their service!!!

I am very concerned that they have access to my checking account via my debit card. The site I was on with when they stole my information is a reputable site that I have made purchases thru. I gather that MWI was able to stteal my debit card info from this site.
