LLS 1099-c ripoff Debt cancelled then not cancelled ripoff then loan sold

Late august I recieved a 1099-c in mail from litton loan saying they cancelled my debt of $38000 for my 2nd mortgage that I was in default on for over a year. I immediately then started recieving bills in the mail for me to pay the same debt to Ocwen. I called the # provided and there didnt seem to be any type of live help. I never have made a payment to ocwen since I thought I owed taxes instead. Now on Mar 26 I recieve in mail a corrected 1099-c from litton loan in an ocwen envelope. Im glad I had not filed my taxes yet.
I have read volumes of litton loan shadyness complaints and now have my own. What are they up to now with this? I guess I may need a lawyer to figure this one out. What do I owe and to who?
How many others got 1099-c and then NOT when they did or didnt send a corrected 1099-c with a 0 in box 2?
