I am a mortgage banker who recently had a transaction for payoff of loan I was doing for a couple. They basically held my clients hostage for almost $2,000.00 before I could fund their new loan. They could not show us any explanation of the monies owed, my clients had 4 years worth of perfect payment history and provided all the documentation to HomeEq on their chapter 13 filing and they still demanded the money.

When we wired the money they put it in someone else's account and for over a week continued to harrass us by not crediting my clients account. It was not until I threatned a law suit that anyone stepped up and took care of it.in additon my clients were accused of Hiding from them when the checks they pay with monthly had their name and address and phone number on the checks. If anyone out there is up for a class action suit I think this needs to happen. Mortgage companies like this give us honest mortgage bankes and brokers a bad image... I would be willing to help in any way.
