Rude service, bogus charges and loss of use of deposited funds

On May 17, having jsut retired and relocated to Carlsbad, I opened an account at Wells Fargo by writing them a check for $10,000 drawn on an existing bank account in Maryland. Rather than depositing the funds by cashing the check amde out to them, they proceeded to send a collection inquiry process that is used for foreign banks.

It is now 9 weeks later... The $10,000 was debited to the Maryland bank account and no one in Wells fargo can tell me where the $10,000 is. Additionally, I have been assessed a service fee of $14.00 because of an account balance less than $10,000. I have discussed this problem with no less than 5 Wells Fargo staff that can offer no assitance or knowledge to the disposition of the $10,000.

Wells Fargo is the worst bank I have vere encounterd and anticipate the only remedy will be to litagate to recover what might very well be a $10,000 loss. No one at Wells Fargo expresses any degree of concern.
