Complete ripoff dont fall for it Internet

I was contacted on 9/23 stating that i recieved a cash advance from them and after serveral attempts to deposit checks they are now taking me to court to get their money but they will settle out of court if we paid them the 595 dollars back if it went to court it would cost over 6,000 dollars. The thing is i never applied or recieved any cash advance from them. I seen others with this report online looking for contact information so i thought i would report my case as well. There has got to be a way to stop things like this from happening.
