Business & Finance

TCF Bank is awful. Here's my story. I had an electronic debit going from my checking account from another bank to my savings at TCF. Well, I wanted to close my savings at TCF and opened one elsewhere. I went to the bank and asked how do I go about stopping the electronic debit and a representative inform me that I should go to my bank from which is being withdrawn from. This did not make sense to me since I intitated the withdraw from TCF so I thought it should have stopped from them not the other bank.

I went to the other bank and they inform me otherwise but regardless put a stop payment for me. And I thought that was that. However I did a credit report check and according to TCF I still owed them money for the exact amount that I had reoccurring transfers. I asked the branch manager and he looked it over and said I shouldn't been reported to the credit report agency and said he will call me to fix it.

This has been over a year and it's still there. They should have let me know if they were going to report me to the credit agency for their mistake. Just warning to all people to make sure that TCF hasn't reported you to the credit agency.
