Keeps ripping me off each month taking more from my account

My live-in friend purchased a membership from this company for $200, thinking that he would get a credit card that he would be able to use in case of emergencies, which he did not.

He gave me the money to write a check for him from our joint account with the bank. The check was cashed 5 days later by the company.

He recieved in the mail two catalogs and cards to which he could to purchase items from the catalog only. He has been trying to cancel and get a refund the whole month.

Two months later I was notified that another transaction was in effect. I did more research and found the company had taken out of the joint account $420, which for each transaction was an overdrawn fee because I did not have enough money in there.

There were eight (8) transactions total for $30 each for over drawn fees. I did not give them permission and am clueless on how they were able to take the money without a check number, PIN or signature.

I attempted to call this company and everytime I call it is either busy or no one answers the phone.
