Fraudulent billing harrassment dishonest

On 10/14/03 I received a bill from Capital Aquisitions & Management Company saying I owed $15,748.18 and to send payment immediately. The letter stated Capital Aquisitions & Management Company bought my debt from Midland Receivables Corp who bought the debt from Bank of America. I have never had a credit account with Bank of America AND this debt does not show up on my credit report.

I explained this to Steve Price from Capital Aquisitions & Management Company. He treated me like a loser and said it had to be my debt since the name and SSN matched. Aftert his conversation I called Bank of America's recovery management branch and talked to Patricia. She confirmed I did not owe Bank of America money nor did I ever have credit with them. I called Steve Price back and told him his company was a scam and he should rethink his job if he were an honest man. He said he'd research it further.

I didn't hear anything until 12/27/03. I received another bill in the mail saying Capital Aquisitions & Management Company (CAMCO) has "decided to extend a most generous offer of settlement until 12/31/03." The settlement is for $5,029.99. This time Mike Andrews is the point of contact.
