LP SNAFU at Litton Loan Services

I used to work with Litton on contract while they attempted to convert to an IBM AS400 computer system known as LSAMAS. Despite who holds the actual mortgage Litton may end up servicing to loan. The mortgage could be bought by an individual investor, a corp, a bank, etc. And they are allowed to choose who services the loan. Littion has FNMA (Fannie Mae), major banks, REIT (Real Estate Investment Trusts) or even individual investor's portfolios. You may be able to request from the "investor", the entity that actually has the lien to transfer to another servicer. That is if they will give you that information. Good Luck!

Litton is in the business of keeping its clientle, that is NOT you but the investor, happy. At the time that I was on contract to Litton they were behind on most every portfolio's reconcillation despite the fact that they had continued to dispurse funds to the investor.in some cases, these reconcillations were years behind. To make things worse, they were trying to convert to the LSAMS system. Each time they rolled the system forward a month the monies went everywhere. Kind of like droping a glass jar full of marbles. We would pick them up and it would happen all over again!

If you end up with Litton Loan Services servicing your mortgage you need to keep excellent records including photocopies of each check and the bank statement showing it clearing the bank. If the check does not clear the bank, "floating", then you need to inquire with Litton and/or the investor.

HINT: You can find out who intially supplied the money from your closing documents or from the abstract at you county court house.
