Ripoff / stated I have a bad check from 1991

I first got a letter stating I had a bad check with Ames back in 1991 for $30.00 and if I did not take care of it they would take me to court, I called them and asked that they show me photo copy of the check since it was now 12 years later and I have not changed addresses or jobs for 30 years. I started getting phone calls from different people at JBC Law Firm, they called me at work. I called them back all are very rude. She told me they did not or could produce a check, just pay it.

They continued to call for six months, I kept asking that they give me an address so that I could verify this, she told me they will take me to court. First I question that a check would come to an even $30.00 at Ames and that they decided after 12 years to find me for that amount which now they say is $50.00. They told me I should have heard from my bank, I told yes I would have because I work right beside it at the police department. They refuse to leave me alone.
