Horrible Service/Over Billed

Met with Wendell Waite, CPA in early 2007 to help with the submittal of multiple years of businesses tax returns. At that time, I submitted a QuickBooks file with all of the information I could provide.

I was later informed that they needed additional information from me to finish my returns. Met with Wendell Waite two different times, and in both appointments, not only did I sit in his waiting room for an extra ½ hour, it took the first half of our meeting just to get him to remember the details of my file.

After realizing that he wasn’t even the person working on it, I asked to speak to the point person that would actually be working on my file. Having Wendell Waite as a go between was pointless.

The new person (Aldo) had to be brought up to speed on the account and before we were able to make any progress, he then went on vacation and or left the company. I then talked to Wendell Waite and found that someone else would be working the file which brought us back to square one.

I’m my desperation; I purchased prior years of Turbo Tax just to get my returns filled.

I had $1,000 retainer with Waite & Associates and decided to keep it there knowing that when I sold my business, I would need help properly closing down the entities. I then found a CPA that could actually return e-mails and keep his accounts straight so I sent Wendell Waite a letter asking for the balance of my retainer back.

I then received an invoice stating that the entire $1,000 had been used. The billing here is outrageous! Should I be charged for meetings when the meeting is just to give them information that we had already talked about? There are multiple items on the invoice for “prep pending items list†How much should that cost?

The fact is my $1,000 was stolen, nothing filed, no advice given, maybe someone reviewed my QuickBooks file which should take less then an hour. This company is just like the crooked Wall Street types that are gouging the average American. Stay away at all costs!
