Crime Unit for Cashnet
Mark redd, very scary scam!

Business & Finance

On April 16, a message from Alex Stewart was left on my work phone. I could barely hear the thick accented person speaking because there was a lot of background noise. What I could hear was the person's name, phone number and a mention that if I ignored the call I would be arrested because someone had filed a complaint against me.

I called the number back from my cell phone and I was put on hold. After about a minute, I hung up and called back, but no one answered. I left a message and asked them to return my call because I could barely hear their message and I was concerned about the part of the message that I did hear. I didn't get a call back.

On April 17th, I called back from my cell phone and a man answered, I asked to speak to Alex, the man said I was calling from an unknown number and I needed to call back from the number they called me on and left the message, he hung up. I called back and spoke to Mark Redd and he began to tell me that I had charges against me because I received money from Cashnet and didn't pay it back. I have received loans before, but I never had an account with Cashnet. He started out telling me I would be arrested at my job on Monday, the officer would notify my job and then I would be taken to the courthouse where I would need to pay a $5484.87 bond and other fees. He said if I wanted to take care of it and not be arrested, I could pay $987.54 and that would take care of it, then he said I could pay a lower amount of $785.59 as a discounted amount. I told him I did not have that kind of money and he told me to borrow it and pay that person back or I would be arrested on Monday.

I asked to speak to a manager, no manager to speak to. I asked for the number to Cashnet so I could speak to someone there, he was working for Cashnet in the Crime Unit department, no one else I could speak to. He told me to find the money and call him back and I hung up.

I was very concerned about this so I came to the internet and started looking up Cashnet so I could contact them and I saw this report of this being a scam.

I did contact Cashnet and they verified that I do not have an account with and never have and they sent me a copy of the transcript of our conversation so I would have a record.

This situation is very disturbing and I can't figure out why someone would sit up somewhere and cause other people this kind of distress.

All I can ask is that God watches out for all of us that are subjected to this kind of fraudulent activity.
