See other threads also, but I just got back from an interview with IPA, wondering why:

-they're hard selling a bunch of people without any experience in this industry (myself included. Yes, I have a good resume, but nothing that screams sales.)

-they didn't know where the restroom was in their own building after the conference room presentation, despite offices that were trying too hard to look lived in. Generic paperweights, posters... Look carefully at the details. For the glamor they're selling it wasn't right. If you've been there more than three hours, you know where the restroom is and you don't have a collage on the wall of your nearest and dearest without frames.

-the materials and website of this amazing company couldn't afford better talented graphic designers. They look mid-nineties, poorly done.

-I was asked to pay $285 additional to a licensing fee

-they barely asked any questions, just sold the idea of being an agent. Do I want to work for a company that doesn't seem interested in who they're 'interviewing'?

-they created and functioned on a business plan that advanced its employees money that wasn't coming into the company. I have never been part of an organization that depends on what it doesn't have... UNLESS it gets those funds by the 17% paybacks on commission checks (something I'm sure I would have read in the contract after paying $285).

-seemed irritable when asked questions about the possibility of accounts dropping off, and other small practical matters.

Be careful, I'm sure they're traveling.
