In 2007 we were convinced by a salesman that getting a water softner system installed in our home was a good thing to do in order to help purify our water. We were approved for a loan with Castle Credit Corporation and soon after had the system installed into our home.
We paid on time for a long time (probably a year or more) and then I was laid off from my job and we fell behind a few months. After a few months we started making double payments every month and then my husband became deathly ill and was in the hospital for awhile and then out of work for 6 months.
After the first few months we began making small payments and the rep I was speaking with was always understanding. Then all of a sudden he no longer works for the company and the new rep is extremely rude, "Stating that he is only there to collect our money and it really doesn't matter to him whether we pay or not because he will still get his paycheck on Friday either way" and then rudely hanging up on my husband.
I have been asking for a statement or print out of our account so that we can see where and how the money is being applied and so we can clearly understand where we stand. Yesterday I was told by a "supervisor" that they only send our statement when they want and that they do not have to send it out when we request it. Stating that we have been sent many letters which tells us how much we owe.
As I explained to him, anyone can write/type a letter stating any amount they want and that does not show me where/how the money is being applied to our account.
They are constantly rude to us and when I stated I wanted to file a complaint against the new rep, he verbally took the complaint and I told him that I no longer want to deal with that rep and he said, "no problem". Yesterday when I spoke to him again, he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about and stating that I will have to talk to that same rep in the future because there are no other reps.
I stated I will not speak with someone who will/can not treat me as a human being and I will no longer pay them if they do not agree to work with us. We have offered a small payment to be paid every single week until we are caught up as long as we are dealt with in a proper manner.
What can we do? What shoud we do? Who can help us with this problem?
