CreditorWeekly.com
Zachary Rouse dba CreditorWeekly.com fradulent invoices, bogus invoices for advertising

Business & Finance

Our collection agency received an invoice from CreditorWeekly.com in the amount of $1,128.47 for services that we never solicited nor received. The invoice is fraudulent and states that "the total is due in 15 days. Overdue accounts subject to a service charge of 5% per month." Obviously, there is a website called CreditorWeekly.com, however, it appears that it only re-hashes already published articles. The ACA (The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals) has also posted warnings about this company's practices of sending fraudulent invoices.
Apparently the company has obtained a list of collection agencies and proceeds to send out mass mailings of invoices to all the agencies it can find. The company is banking on the fact that the agency will assume this invoice is legitimate and owed and simply pays the invoice. This invoice is NOT a solicitation for advertising services, but appears to the receipient that it is an invoice for services already provided and that severe interest of 5% per month (60% per annum) will be assessed if this is not paid in 15 days. Needless to say, a rate of 60% per annum is in violation of the usury laws in the State of California since the legal rate in California is only 10% per annum. The legal rate in Oregon is only 9% per annum.
The website has no contact address, phone number or owner information available. The "invoice" that was received only has a PO BOX in California. There is no way to contact this company to even inquire about the invoice, except for an online submission form on their website.
The BBB online also shows complaints against this company and their rating is a big "F". Our agency was not ignorant enough to actually send him any money, but we felt it is important to provide this information in the hopes that other agencies will see this before sending payment to the company. If you do receive such an invoice, we have found more helpful contact information for this so called company.
