Illegal and unauthorized bank garnishment, Suggestions on how to get your money back into your bank account that someone wrongfully takes it from you!

Cohen, McNeile & Pappas in Leawood, Kansas is representing Unifund CCR Partners. They illegally garnished my bank account without any warning. There were no emails, letters, or any other type of warning or correspondence. Additionally, the Statute of Limitations in Kansas for collection on this account has expired. I filed a complaint with the FTC and the Kansas Attorney General's office and we have notified our attorney.
Unifund has a trashy reputation and represents CHASE who's so called bank is First USA Bank. There are numberous class actions filed against them across the U.S. Unifund has also violated FCRA by falsely updating this account on all three credit bureas to look like the account is more recent than it is. The account was written off in 2003 for 12k and now they are trying to collect for over 30K with interest and penalties.
People: please do your research and do not be intimidated by these tactics. Check your states statute of limitations and do not admit to anything. Make them PROVE they own the debt and PROVE that you are liable. Make them provide original paperwork and anything that you have signed. Send everything certified mail. If they cannot prove their case the MUST cease and desist. Also, they must notify the credit bureaus.
