In a pinch searched out an auto title loan on the internet. Was referred to Wilshire through some kind of broker. They were very expedient to e-mail the check list of items needed for the loan. The very first page in huge letters advertised 5.9% interest. Over the next day I gathered and submitted the docs. They advertised "receive your money in an hour" Once all my docs were in I couldn't get them to return calls. A day later they said they would have a rep meet me at a predetermined location close to me since they didn't have an office in AZ. It turned out they wanted me to drive 3 hrs to meet the rep. Finally my frustration peaking so I agree to meet them 1 1/2 hrs drive away. Then their rep was late and I had to wait. I signed the documents and returned home relieved to have the check, but thoroughly frustrated at the scenario. Then upon close examination of the documents discovered the interest rate to be 75%. I called and asked for explanation with no avail. Asked for an amortization schedule and they played dumb as if I was asking for a payment history and never produced one. These are indeed predators and something should be done to stop this deceptive, fraudulent behavior.
