Paul Vincent Refinance Ripoff

I was ripped of by Merit Lending in Costa Mesa, California when I refinanced my home in August. They had a certified appraiser sumbit a inflated loan appraisal for my home that was approximately $200,000 over the actual value of the home. Of course, even though I paid for the appraisal they refused to provide me a copy for my records. Now I know why!!! And, I had just done extensive remodeling to upgrade the house so I was easily fooled. They even sent a truth in lending statement that was completely different from the actual loan documents that were submitted for signature. When I objected to signing and called Mr. Vincent, he bald-faced lied to me about the actual loan terms. I was under pressure and signed—the worst mistake of my life! If only I had heeded my inner voice telling me not to sign! I have struggled mightily to make the mortgage payments in this bad economy, but it looks like I may lose the house as it is so over-mortgaged that I cannot sell it and pay off the loan. I am currently filing a complaint with the California Department of Real Estate in hopes of stopping these people from hurting others. They were so dishonest it boggles the mind!
