Countrywide financial - BOA Bank of Americas' automated phone musical chairs game always leaves you on the floor

In trying to reach the NORMAL Bank of America system, that is administering the Countrywide Financial mortgages, October to December at any phone number that I have been able to discover...
I get the same circular auto game..'I'd like to discuss my being late on my mortgage payment this month'.."would you like the mailing address?"..'no I wish to avoid my first ever late fee'.."would you like the main menu?"... Etc. Etc...
Now i'm on minimum social security retirement benefits and property taxes increase, flood insurance =up, homeowners insurance = up, and property value down 30% in two years. So it is doubtful that a reverse mortgage senario will be accepted!
I know there are more desparate situations than mine, however, Bank of America, et. Al., claims 3900 additional personnel to handle the 'making homes affordable ' deals... What the hell happened to the interest in the customers that have always paid on time and need some short term consideration?
$450 million bonus. Given the chance I'll do without rather than deal with BOA again. Their big time negotions are like 'but mommy, I'll always take care of the puppy and keep him warm when it gets cold'.. If you'll just give me the money to buy him...!
It appears there is no true wisdom left, within or without Washington...
