Declined check because they couldn't verify funds? Insane

Recently I was out of town and decided to do a little shopping. I was 200 miles from my little home town bank that has known me since my birth! I presented a check and it was declined by Telecheck with their only reason being "other" and "unable to verify funds". This was on a Saturday, my bank is LITTLE, YES they were freaking CLOSED!

3 days later I called telecheck back to get this issue resolved and they verified by information and told me to represent the check!

Are you kidding me??? 3 days later and 200 miles away they want me to send it through again!

This company has done this to me before! I am so mad I could find the person who came up with this system and wring their neck. Ridiculous!!!
