Ripoff deceptive company Orange Internet

Recently while using LendingTree.com to apply for a home equity line of credit, I clicked a link on their site for a credit report service. I agreed to a credit card charge of $24.95 to receive full credit reports from Credit Monitor Service. 30 days later an additional $79.95 was charged to my credit card by Credit Monitor Service.

I called in about my American Express credit card additional charge and officially stated that I was disputing the $79.95 charge. I then called Credit Monitor Service, told them I had not requested the $79.95 services they had billed to my credit card.

Apparently, they lure people in by offering them 30 days of free service and then, if people don't opt out, they get charged $79.95 (it's in the very small footnote print on a secondary page of their website). As soon as I complained about the $79.95 charge and said I wanted to cancel my account and be credited back the full $79.95, the company agreed to do so.

The credit will take 7-10 days to appear, but they also agreed to email me within 24-48 hours to confirm that they will do the refund credit. Clearly, this company is trying to deceive users and hope they don't spot the charge or don't bother to dispute it. Don't let them get away with it! Complain and you'll get your money back!
