Holding Money from College student

I deposited mutiple checks before i left the country recently on 10-20. The bank manager told me there would be a 5-7 day hold on the checks per Risk management request. While out of country i was using my account, not knowing that they kept the debt hold after 10 days, now going into the negative not knowing... I called in to speak with a Rep, and they told me "that the funds will be release at 5pm tonight and to call back at 5 to make sure they went through". I called back at 5 and again they told me the funds wont release until 9 am tommorow per risk managment request. As this is going on 11 days now. I told them im a 21yr old student out of country and need my money asap to pay for flights and baggage expense, they said" nothing we can do sorry". Now i have 200 $'s in overdraft fees, there stating it was my fault when i have BLACK AND WHITE proof of the checks clearing the companies account the 10-26. Bank of america is with holding checks that i depostied for almost 2 weeks now, how can they do this? Needless to say, soon as i get this fixed im done with this bank.
