Approved loan asked for money up front in order to lend money

My mother contacted this company about getting a $20,000 loan. She had only their number from word of mouth from someone. Contacted them and said they don't run credit. 2 days later they contacted her back and told her they could approve her loan but due to the amount they had to pull her credit report and she would have to come up with 6 months of payments up front, totalling $1,4xx. 00, due to the amount she was borrowing. Upon payment she would have the money in her account withing 24 hours. Upon hearing this I told her it was a scam to not go through with it. Why would a company that is lending you money ask for money up front before they even cut you a check? Upon further digging I discovered the website is registered to:

Why would a company supposedly based out of Maine be registered to an individual from Canada? Scam!

Do not trust these people. Don't get conned into fronting money BEFORE you can receive the money you are requesting.
