Walmart - greendot money card - lost money - scam - where are funds - no resolution

As a victim of ID theft, I purchased a pre-paid visa card to pay my bills online and aoivd fees of paying over the phone with someones accounts. I had an early instance of an unauthorized charge and per thier guildeines, filed a letter of dispute. I requested a new card as the one I had, was compromised. I received the money refunded, but not a new card. After several attempts to get a new card. I gave up and continued to use the first. I used it purchase an item online, through SECOM.com for an oversees transaction this went smoothly.

Then there was another unauthorized item on 3.31 for $74. I wrote another dispute letter and requested that money be refunded to me, via check and the card canceled. I alos contacted the merchant and requested a refund. The merchant informed me they canceld the transcation (which had cleared on thier end) and that it should return tothe card. It didn't. I got a letter from Walmart stating they first needed more information. I replied and waited.

I received another letter letter from them stating the card had to be reported lost/stolen/compromised before they could investigate it. I called and reported it compromised and they issued another card (guess they missed that in the first letters). I asked what i needed to do now and was told to write another letter an call customer service. I called customer serivice and spent 40 minutes argueing with a guy who kept telling me that the funds were never available and hadnt posted.

Then he told me the 7.40 had posted incorrectly (coudln't get the figure straight for the rest of the call) then he told me that the date the item posted, wasn't the 31st and the website showed. I said, i woudl complete a full audit of the account and send it to dispute office if i had to, but i wanted my money back. He informed me to write ANOTHER letter of dispute. I did. Then i got another letter today saying that they again, need more information. The original item was on 3.31.2009 and here it's june 13th.

The merchant no longer has the item showing in thier records and walmart can't seem to locate the funds to return them. I expected better from walmart. Even the new card they sent me, there is no way to activate it, as i didn't purchase and dont have the receipt number. Its really aggrivating. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and will file one with the BBB as well. If they have not resovled this after this last letter, I am seeking an attorney and will sue walmrt - ge money and greendot!
