GMAC (Fraud Call)
GMAC Bank (Fraud Call 1-800-388-0085) Fraud call from an agent claiming to be from GMAC bank asking to verify my employment for a loan

Received a call (Private Number) at work from a Indian person claiming to be an agent from GMAC Bank. He stated that he needed to speak to someone to verify my employment to process my refinance loan.
I told him that I wasn't refinancing any loan and then he quickly stated "sorry I mean your home loan". So I thought this call was legitimate at first since my girlfriend and I are in escrow right now for a home we are buying. He even mentioned my full name and the full name of my girlfriend (co application of the home).

At the time he called me, I couldn't get anyone to verify my employment so I told the guy that I would need to call him later. I asked him for his name and a number to call him back at. He then states his name was Alex Jones (doesn't sound like an Indian name to me) and he can be reached at 18003880085.
Being suspicious now, I called the number back right away. There is a recording of an Indian woman stating that you will be shortly transfered to a GMAC agent but it hangs up the call after 10 seconds or so.

So I then went on the GMAC's website and I couldn't verify that this number was indeed one of theirs. So I called GMAC's customer service number that listed on their site. I told them the whole story and they couldn't identify the number belonging to them. They told me that it was probably a fraudulant call and to not give out any information.

I'm concern on how they got our names and my work number to begin with.
