Chase Credit Card - UNJUST

I will start this by saying I have excellent credit, and never pay any of my bills late.

This week my son came to me and he had forgotten he put a stack of mail he collected from the mailbox under the floor mat of our front door... He was freaking out saying if anything is late I will pay it... Haha... Funny at the time.

Well, one of these pcs. Of mail happened to be my Chase credit card bill... Immediatly I went on-line and paid it. I called them the next morning to tell them what had happened, and they said they could not talk to me about my account until the payment was rec'd. They told me to call back in the morning. So, this is what I did...

The next morning I talked to a different woman and told her what had happened again and asked if they would please wave the fees, and set my interest rate back to where it was. Let me tell you I've had the card since 1997, and never made a late payment. They jacked my interest rate up to 17% and this was and interest rate that was set at 3.99%. We had bought a car and used it for my husbands car payment. We still owe about 8 grand on it... They said at this moment you do not qualify for any adjustment? I freaked out. I asked them how does someone qualify for it? I obviously lost a bit of control and went on a rant about credit card companies etc. And ended with this is BS and hung up... She said well we can cancel you account. Blah blah blah. Yes, and this would ruin my excellent credit score.

We have our business account thru Chase, and I'm pulling everything out and plan on never doing business with them again. I will either pay off the car on this particular card or go rate shopping and put it on the lowest one I can find; which rates are horrible right now. I'm so very upset, and I just really hope something is done about credit card companies.

It's unjust and my wish is that whenever this happens to people you no longer use their services again.
