Another fraudulent "collection law firm" trying to rip off innocent people

Several voice mails from this company claiming to take legal action against me if I didn't pay for a payday loan that I allegedly took out in May. I didn't take out a payday loan and haven't for several years but apparently regardless those companies are either selling the information from their clients or their systems have been hacked into. I have two options I was told by the man who answered the phone "hello".

Apparently, he is an attorney and his paralegals were leaving the scripted messages I received. He said his name was Mr. Jefferson and he had an accent like the lady on the voice mails. I would guess eastern Asian. He insisted on finishing his script before answering any of my questions and proceeded to tell me that I have two options... Go to court in California at 11 AM on Saturday (as if, I live in NY) or pay the $850 via a credit or debit card that day.

I opted for the court date and told him to let me know how it goes. He wanted to talk to my attorney on record and when I told him that she advised me to get any and all paperwork he stated that he couldn't send anything to me only my attorney... You know client attorney privileges:) He threatened to fax the paperwork to my employer and when I told him to please do because then I could sue him personally for harassment, he changed the subject.

Unfortunately, not enough people know the credit laws and I'm sure he didn't expect me to. I've been working in finance for 13 years! No creditor cannot inform or talk to any third party without your consent regarding your debt, nor can they call you at work if you ask them not to. They also cannot call after 9 PM your time zone.
