Did Not Hold Up Their End of the Agreement

I got a call some months ago about Financial Trust Resources being able to help eliminate my debt quicker then I could. They would lower my interest rates and layout a plan of repayment for me. They would charge me $795 but would guarantee to save me $2200. If they couldn't save me $2200 then the would refund the $795 and I could continue to use their financial services. Sounded pretty good to me.

While I was on the phone with them I was searching to see if they were on the up and up. I couldn't find anything to make me feel skeptical. So, I went through with it. They charged my account and sent me a large financial packet to fill out all my information. I filled out and returned everything to them.

A couple of weeks later I received a call to make an appointment to talk with one of their Financial Advisors. I made the appointment and received a call from him at our scheduled time. He told me that what we seemed to be doing was very good and that the interest rates we had on our credit cards were all very good and he didn't think he could do much for us but would try anyways.

We made 3 conference calls to my 3 credit cards. The first call did not yield any change in the interest rate. So, we moved on to credit card number 2. Here we found that they had just raised my rate for no reason. He did get them to put it back to what it had been (8.9%). However, I believe I could've done this myself once I had seen it. I was the one that pointed out to him when I pulled up my account. The last credit card he was able to lower it 1%. After we were done I was told that the payments I make are very good and to continue what I am doing. He said they would do an analysis and I should get it in the mail soon.

Four weeks later I finally get the report. It basically said to continue making the payments that I am making and I will save myself $48,000. So, they have told me continue making the same amount of payments I am already doing but they are taking credit for saving me $48,000.

I just got off the phone with the head of refunds and she continued to say they did what the agreement said and would not refund my $795. I said that I would make sure I went to the Better Business Bureau and she told me to be careful about making accusations. Well I am not making accusations I am stating exactly what happened. If you feel they did hold up their end of the agreement so be it. But please be aware before you sign an agreement with them.
