The Best Service Company refused to settle dispute upon recognition of my recording the conversation Los Angeles california

I called to settle an account which had made its way to a settlement offer. Upon calling, I obviously was asked to pay the original amount. I informed the gentleman of the letter in which I had received stating a lesser amount. The man agreed but would like me to hang on while he adjusted his recorder or what not. I complied, and as soon as he was ready I simply asked for the same courtesy to set up my recorder. Folks; let me tell you this was not acceptable and I was quickly informed our converrsation was "over". Sounds to me like someone doesn't like being held responsible. What a bunch a terrible American wannabes.
