We became clients of Debt Settlement USA in October. We were told that we could become totally debt free in 36 months. Of course they took their fee first for the first 13 months which only left us very little each month to apply toward settlements. Well it was a total nightmare!!! We didn't have any account that would settle for what we had left after their fee. So the first 3 settlement offers that they offered us we had to put our own money with the "savings" money. If we told them we couldn't take advantage of the offer then they got rude & said..."you realize if you don't take advantage of this offer the account will go to a charge off & then it will go to an attorney or collection agency then we may not be able to settle it." Well I don't know about anyone else but if I had all the money for every settlement on a daily basis I would have never signed up with them for help. It got to where they wanted us to settle an account everyday. Needless to say we canceled with them, I closed my checking account so they could NOT get anymore money from me, & I hired an attorney who is going to help either settle my accounts or get me out of them. I also took matters into my own hands & called some of the creditors myself & was able to settle 3 accounts very easy. You can settle accounts yourself... We don't need to pay anyone to do this. Leason learned for sure. I found that the creditors just want to hear from you. They were more than happy to deal with me & help me in anyway they could. Be very careful before you decide to go with Debt Settlement USA. Also if you call them too much & inquire about anything they don't like that @ all. They DO NOT like to communicate with you.
