ConsumerInfo.com seeks nothing but the fradulant betterment of their own bank account. Hidden behind a rash of pop-up ads and comercials proclaiming a "free credit report" to assist you in managing your credit, they actually seek to commit the very acts they claim to prevent.
Cic Credit Monitor Service, as it is also called, strategically places pop up ad links on sites that offer real credit, loan, or money management information to target those who seek to protect their interests. They even seem to target those who are in need of money the most—seeking credit information before attempting to attain a home loan or apply for financial aide for college.
I, along with many others who got caught in the web of deciet known as Cic, do not have excess money to allow fradulant, manipulative companies get away with even a few dollars.
Although the loss of nearly eighty dollars is what brought most of us to this site in the first place, it is not the only reason we seek justice. Cic reeled us in under the guise of a company that sought to be an advocate for customers who needed assistance in finding the truth of our financial records, only to take our personal information and grossly twist it into a black mark on our credit and bank cards—the very thing they claim to help prevent.
Victims of Cic were not merely duped for $79, but were raped of our trust, ideals of personal betterment, and faith in the American business. I urge all others who got sucked into this trap to speak out of your experience. Not only could it eventually lead to law finally catching up with Cic, but could prevent others from falling into the same trap.
Cic will be brought to justice. It is only a matter of time—and I personally want to see that day come soon.
