Claimed to modify mortgage to avoid foreclosure. Wanted $1100 to get process started. Filled out application, had money debited from checking account.
Researched company w/BBB & their web site. Seemed like a legit company. This began in August.
Was told to not contact anyone; present mortgage, attys, etc. Not to send anymore money to mortgage company and fax any correspondnce I received to them to be put in file.
Claimed had many attorneys, even district attorney working for him. Had nothing to worry about, was in good hands.
After 3 months, tried contacting; leaving numerous voice messages & emails, no response. Cell phone disconnected, company phone disconnected. Website still works but main phone numbers are deleted.
Been trying to get refund for money I forwarded, but no luck. Contacted BBB, California Atty Gen, even FTC. Praying this works for refund.
Be cautious about using Foreclosure Loan Modification companies. Do Not pay any money ahead of time. Even though no report shows in BBB, as in my case, check further references.
