Took $1888 from me for a personal loan. I was told the lender backed out

A man named Andrew Simmons from Clearview Lending Services called me on 10/23 telling me I was approved for a $5000 loan at an interest rate of 6%. I was sceptical at first and did some research online trying to find this guy's name or the company name in some kind of scam alert. I did not find anything, so I assumed this was legit.

I was told that I had to make a collateral payment of $930 to secure the loan. I made this payment on 11/11. The next day I received a call from Glenn Russell who is the customer service manager telling me my payment was received, but the lender needed an additional payment of $930 due to my credit. I sent another payment on 11/13 to the same person in Canada.

On 11/14, I receive a call from David Gray, the manager saying there was another problem with my file and that the lender backed out, but he found another company willing to give me a loan of $10,000, but that I needed to send another $1860 to secure the loan. I do not have this kind of money, so I requested a refund.

I was told I had to wait until Dec 15 to have my money refunded due to the lender's billing cycle. I was doing research online and found out it is illegal for lenders to ask for money in exchange for a loan. This constitues fraud. I wish I found this out before I sent the money.

I just want my money back.
