I want to warn everyone to watch out for the company Tri-Financial LLC, aka CNE Associates aka Brewer Michaels and Kane. They are very deceptive, and will try to con you.
I got a call in February from Tri-Financial about a debt from which is SOL. They were in-cooperative and rude. They would only e-mail me bits and pieces of information and then threatened to take me to court.
I decided stupidly to settle the account for $1,500 dollars. I have all paper work, e-mails and return receipts from post office.
Well, 7 months went by and I had not been contacted by anyone. Then out of the blue I am getting calls from a coming calling themselves Brewer, Michaels and Kane. They claim they are collecting the same debt I just paid off for Tri-financial, and that I hadn't paid it in full.
They will tell you they are lawyers, when in fact they are not. I ask for their bar number and they had no idea what I was talking about even.
They went so far as to curse at me and yell. I believe there are only 2-3 people working there, everyone sounds the same.
They also threatened court, and I told them to take me because I refuse to deal with them, they will not get another penny out of me, or fool and threaten me into paying more.
They call at least a few times a week, but I never answer, and it's always the same thing. This has been going on for two months now.
I say if they want to take me to court, then take me. Quit calling and making threats, just do it.
My advice to anyone is not to deal with any of these companies listed above, they are scam artist masking themselves behind a business name. They need to be shut down.
Anyone who has dealt with these people, please feel free to post about it. I have filed complaints with the FTC against them, and I advise everyone else to do the same.
