CharterStone Financial almost scammed me too.
Business loan. They sent me paperwork and asked for $7000.00 pre-payment.
I started to investigate. Local police and chamber of commerce does not know them. The building super does not know them property management does not know them.
I traced the fax number to an address 1 mile away from where they said the office was. I talked to someone named Craig Bennett. He said he was there for 7 years. Someone named Jason was another name I talked to and he said it was in business for 5 years. I told them to get their "scripts" right.
I have called everyone from New Jersey Sec. Of State to the Secrete Service (fraud dept. NEW!) And they pretty much told me if I didn't send any money, then there was no crime.in reading the other people here, I see they are in Canada. That means if you send money to them, It is a larger dollar amount because of the exchange rate and since it is another Country. You pretty much sent your money away and will probably never get it back.
Nothing bad about Canada. But they really don't want to deal with American problems and don't have the resources to do anything about the crime because it falls under a limit for investigation clause.
Charterstone Financial needs to be sued good ol American style. I would love to be involved in a lawsuit, even though I was not ripped off.
They tried to. Thats what pisses me off. If I caught someone pick-pocketing me. I would not say. "oh well nice try".. I would make it so they felt physical pain for their mistake every day of the rest of their life... IF they survived the initial attack.
The problem is. The money they have taken, falls under the radar for amount for the authorities to investigate. Even though it has crossed international borders. This is the case with Ebay too. All they have to say about it is "buyer beware"
