Foreclosure letter after loan transfer with no payment instructions

My loan was purchased from Equifirst by Fairbanks in November. I had not heard from them or received any correspondence from them in November. I called Equifirst, and they said I would have to wait since they no longer had my mortgage. I called Equifirst on November 23rd and again on December 2nd. I still had no contact from Fairbanks - no account number or anything...
Then on December 28th I received a letter dated December 13, 2002, stating that I had not been making my payments and that foreclosure was going to be started... I had never received anything from these people... I had been out of town from December 2nd until December 15th, and my mail was picked up by my son each day and placed on my kitchen table... Nothing from Fairbanks...
Today I received another letter stating I owed them back payments and interest... I had tried to find out where I needed to send the money, to no avail. I went to the post office to mail my payment to them (I finally had an address to mail to), and while I was gone, a rep from Fairbanks came to my home... I do not know who came. When I tried to call the phone number, they were closed for the weekend... so I could not call them...
I feel like this is their fault and I should not be charged with interest or foreclosure. I feel like they are bullying me for something that is their fault... They have never sent me a payment book or any information on their company or where to mail payments... Etc... Thank you
