Pipeline Data
Held $10,000 hostage and charged $300 for transaction they never intended to complete

Business & Finance

When we charged our two biggest credit card charges, totaling more than 10 grand, Pipeline charged the cards but refused to deposit the money in our bank. They said that the high amounts were too risky, even though we've never had a client challenge a charge. They gave us two alternatives: either submit a pile of documents for their approval, all the while holding our money, or refund the money to our clients.

I can understand that they might have a limit to how much they want to charge a card, but the way they go about it is unethical. Basically, they charge you for transactions they are not willing to complete. They apparently do this regularly. If they were to wave their fees, we might have considered using them for smaller transactions in the future, but it seems they view this terrible inconvenience as profitable. It was a $300 lesson, and it waisted our time and our client's time. We won't use them again.
