A/k/a WAMU Charged Interest on Advanced Payments to my Loan... Forced Insurance to Over-Insure Terra Linda, California

When I decided to pay my refinanced house off; I would add a few hundred dollars extra to my usual monthly payment and my instructions were to PUT THIS MONEY TOWARD THE PRINCIPAL still owed. This would reduce my next month's payment of interest and principal, because I had an adjustable rate loan. What they'd do, is take the extra money and apply it to next month's payment, thus charging me interest in advance and NOT REDUCING THE AMOUNT I STILL OWED by the full amount I had paid. Thus, when next month's payment would come up, they'd be charging me interest on a larger amount of money than I actually owed; making a few cents/dollars extra for themselves. When I complained, and COMPLAINED, I was told, 'it's the computer's fault' and they couldn't reverse it. I made such a stink about it, they figured out 'how to reverse it', and then started telling me I needed more insurance on my loan (which was under $25,000) by this time. I had insurance, I was fully insured, but they wrote up extra policies for standard insurance plus flood insurance... And started putting these charges against what I owed them. I wrote letters to the morons in Wisconsin where their headquarters was at the time, and I got phone calls from them at 6:00 A.M. (my time - I'm in California). Every lawyer I know was chomping at the bit to sue the crap out of them... I finally paid off my loan, they erased all the 'extra money I owed for this un-needed and un-necessary insurance; I closed out my savings account/my checking account and when I cancelled all automatic payments to my checking account from my stock market accounts, I was told by large Fund Managers that I was the 5th person that day to quit Washington Mutual and open up a new checking account in another bank. As of this date; they are in deep do-do and the Head Goniff has been replaced. I have saved all the paper-work on this swindle; and am willing to cooperate in case criminal charges are brought against them, not for a Class-action Law Suit
