Bank teller steals ID and identity, opens false accounts

This is a warning to other customers of National City Bank in Columbus, specifically at the Westerville Branch. A teller there, who has been arrested but may get away with his crimes due to the shoddy policework of the Westerville P.D., stole a customer's ID, then used the info to open a checking and savings account in this customer's name. He waited almost 3 years after stealing the ID to open the account.

After overdrafting the account, he used an accomplice who also still works at this branch location to credit the account and reverse the charges from the things he purchased (ripping off not only the bank, but the merchant as well).

If you have ever been a customer of National City Bank, please check to make sure that you have no unauthorized accounts open in your name. National City has yet to prosecute this thief, leaving their customers vulnerable to Identity theft by their own employees.
