Daniels Law Offices Summons for Court

My mother was given a summons today for a bill from Midland Funding which was originally an account she had with Citibank. Midland Funding has a lawyer, Daniels Law Offices located here in Massachusetts.

My mother owes the money but cannot pay it. She is 78 years old and all she has to live off of is her Social Security.

I contacted the lawyer for her and explained my mother's financial situation, but they still are trying to get the money from her.

My question is can they take money from her Social Sercurity benefits?

I am going to call this lawyer on Monday, it is Saturday and should I also contact the court to explain her financial situation.

Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.
