Heartfelt disappointment to those struggling with with financial difficulties

At first, when I opened this letter, I thought it was the answer to all my prayers, but when I got control of the excitement, I realized the misspells and inconsistencies..."all prices must be claimed by June 23", not prizes.
Why would a cashier's check need to be "cleared" as I was told? I always knew a cashier's check is essentially money. When I asked about that, I was told by a supposed "agent" that I had "no choice" but to let it "clear".

My response was that I did have a choice, and mine was to take it to my bank and turn it in to the fraud department where it was determined to be a fake. I also attempted to turn this in to the F.B.I., Houston, and was told that this was an "old scam", and to tear it up and disregard it.
I just want to try to save someone else the hassle and heartache that this type of scam can cause.
