Ripped Me Off... Monthly Billing Charged To Debit Card

Business & Finance

I got an email about 18 months ago for which I thought was a kit to learn how to make money on ebay. For $1.95 and my debit card I ordered the kit. I didn't receive it so I called them after a month or so and they said they would send another one right out to me.

When I got it, I realized it wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be and through it in the trash and thought the $1.95 was a good lesson in ordering such junk. A few months ago, I saw, that they were charging my bank account for $49.95 each month and I called and had it stopped but to my surprize when I was doing my taxes for last year (little late) today, they had been charging the $49.95 since the first month I ordered the stupid kit.

All in all, they charged my account about $600 or $700. I am sure they had some fine print in their offer but I usually am very good about reading this to make sure I don't have to call in and cancel after a 30 day trial. I never would get involved in any kind of arrangement that requires me to call them to cancel. Companies like this need to spell out any hidden charges.

I just know that I would never agree to getting involved in a contract of this much for anything without knowing a lot more. I didn't sign anything... What a rip off.
