AmeriCredit Is UNAmerican and Should be called AmeriDEBTOR, They Steal, They Lie, They Harrass

My problems with AmeriCredit started when I made my very first payment to them (On Time), after getting my car loan through them. I made my first payment on-line at their web site and then I later received a phone call from them saying I was late on my first payment. It has been a nightmare since.

First of all, they take advantage of those of us with bad credit and charge us high interest rates. They had told me that if I made my payments on time for period of 6months to a year (I might be a little off on that) then they would consider refinancing at a lower interest rate. My payments are outrageous! I agreed to this loan because I thought I had no other choice. Well, as it turns out, now Americredit says they don't do refinancing of loans.

Because of that first ON TIME payment being somehow, misplaced??? I've never been "On time" with them. I've always been behind according to their records. It got so confusing to me that I decided to try paying the old, traditional way: write a check and mail it. But, that didn't help with getting me back on track. There's been many months that I've made a double payment thinking I was caught up only to get more phone calls.

To make matters worse, I lost my job and really did start falling behind. From day one, AmeriCredit has called me repeatedly during the same day regarding my payments. Yesterday, for example, i had 10 messages from them on my voice mail inbox. When I do talk to a representative and make arrangements, they let me know that the phone calls will not stop. My phone constantly rings with calls from them. Sometimes, when I pick it up I get a recorded message and sometimes a human. But I always get harrassed and told my car will be repossessed if i don't get caught up. They also always give me a speech about how lucky I am to have them giving me a loan. They remind me of my bad credit. I could go on and on and on.

They are liars too. First the promise of the refinance, then the info that they never refinance. Then, there have been times that I've authorized payments from a bank draft on certain dates and they take it out when not authorized. Then they lie about how and when the checks get processed. They've added $600 of "late fees" to my current payment. They've made deferrment arrangements with me, then started calling me the very next day asking for an immediate payment. Either the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing over there, or they are extremely deceitful.

Also, I've been making payments to them for 2 years and my loan balance has actually only gone down by $1000.00 I hate them and hate that this is happening in AmeriCa.
