Court Notice for Citibank Card We Never Had, Debt Doubled

A month or so ago my wife recieved a phone call from Asset Accetance saying she owed 5k on a citibank card she never had, a month later the call says its now 10k. 3 days ago she recieved a notice of hearing to appear in court for this money judgment. Asset Acceptance will not provide any info on the card or give us any info on what is going on. 2 years ago we took all are cards and paid them off with an equity loan. If we had owed citit bank 5kback then it would have been on the list. Trying to contact them if futile. I called the court and since they paid 256.00 to file a claim she is required to show or lose the judgement and have to pay. We have no idea what to do.
