Ripoff Dishonest rip-offs

I called to inquire regarding the radio commercials. I have excellent credit and had a change in my income. This company claimed to have my credit card debt cut in half or I get my money back. They continued to call my home to assure me that time was running out and the "special" agreement they have with the credit card companies is a result of September 11 disaster.
The Credit Card companies will only offer this as a one time situation in order to get unpaid debts off their books because of the bad economy resulting in 911.
I told them that my credit rating is important to us and I do not intent to ruin it. I further told them I intent to stay current with my creditors until they agree to a settlement. Briggs and Baker assured us that this is fine. Of course they took several thousand dollars from us and assured us that as long as we agree to pay the one half amounts, all will be fine and my credit rating will remain the same.

After not hearing from them for over 120 days and after several calls to their office their reply was that we are not 90 days behind and they can't negotiate for us until we are delinquent. I reviewed our agreement and reminded them that nowhere in the agreement are that a stipulation indicated.

Briggs and Baker came back with a "negotiated" agreement with American Express, Citibank, and Discover etc. This amount ends up being more than my original debt.in essence, I owe the current balance.

I'm out thousands and they say tough luck!

We intent to let a Small Claims Judge make the call.

If it sounds too good to be true... Beware.
